Put on your best outfit because you’re invited to have tea with the Queen and witness a trial. Use your best manners and comb your hair, as Her Majesty and the Judge and Jury will not be amused if you don’t!
What do you know about England’s capital city? What are the capital cities of the other home nations? Let’s find out all about the United Kingdom, including its history, topography, artists of different forms of media and famous landmarks. Find out more about the learning we have planned for the weeks ahead in our Curriculum Newsletter.

Class 3 Sherwood Forest Engage Day 21 February
Class 3 enjoyed an exciting day exploring in Sherwood Forest. They learnt orienteering skills to solve a code and developed their team work skills. They also walked through the forest to see the Major Oak. This was Robin Hood’s hideout and is 1000 years old. We didn’t see any of his Merry Men though!
The children also learnt about mini beasts and woodland animal shelters. They used information cards to decide what they had found during their mini beast exploration and identified habitats and shelters specific woodland animals needed. They made shelters for foxes, badgers, hedgehogs and owls and provided these with warmth and protection from predators.
All in all they did the federated schools proud and enjoyed a fabulous day of outdoor learning and exploration. Great work Class 3. As ever you made me exceptionally proud!!!
Gymnastics
This term Class 3 have been using the gymnastic apparatus in order to develop their core strength and agility. They have been exploring the agility frames and ladder combinations and have incorporated the physical shapes learnt to work with these. They have understood sequencing using different apparatus and shapes, as well as cooperation and team work. They are able to put out the apparatus sensibly and safely, and have worked wonderfully as a team. I am very proud of your efforts in PE this term Class 3...Well done!
