The approach to our PSHE curriculum is as follows:

At Lutton St Nicholas Primary Academy, we have developed our PSHE curriculum to ensure that by the time that the children leave us in Year 6, they are resilient young adults who are determined, have a developed understanding of how to stay safe, including E-Safety, healthy and develop good relationships; to have an appreciation of what it means to be a positive member of a diverse, multicultural society and to have a strong self-awareness, interlinked with compassion of others. Skills and knowledge are built on year on year and sequenced appropriately to maximise learning for all children and the use of class portfolios allow us, as a school, to ensure consistency in year groups and progression throughout the school whilst continuing to ensure that teachers are aware of the discussions and learning that has taken place in previous year groups.

Our PHSE curriculum follows six half-termly themes that run throughout the school from EYFS to Y6 and has been designed to build resilience and determination.
